Methodology

Our company is active in a number of different areas, and in all of them customer service is the overriding factor.


At GryphTech, pleasing our customer is our primary goal. We know that if we do a great job in one area, we are more likely to get work in other areas. Over the past five years, 95% of our work has come from referrals and repeat business. The fact that our retention rate is so high proves that we know how to keep our customers happy.



When creating software, both the customer and the developer must work hard to understand the problem, but even then, it is not until the customer sees the application "in action" that they realize they have left important details out of their description, or that things which once seemed important, are now less so. Our approach to software development uses a combination of modern software development methodologies.

We believe that the traditional methods of trying to create a full specification document before beginning any work has a low chance of success. Our approach is to meet with the customer as many times as necessary to understand the problem (typically two to four meetings). We then create a prototype of the project, and start working on the database architecture. As we build the prototype, the customer can view it using the private Intranet we create for each client. The customer gets a clear, very early view of the product, and can provide immediate feedback.

Working on the database architecture at this early stage helps to reveal problems that may not have been considered, or where the application needs to be more completely described. Following the approval of the prototype, we are able to create a development plan with target dates that we are highly confident of meeting.

We have been using this method for over nine years for projects large and small, and it provides consistently excellent results.
